(This comes from the 30 Days of Truth meme, an ongoing blogging project that I hoped to finish by the end of the year…maybe by the end of January?)
Day #25 – The reason you believe you’re still alive today.
Being a survivor, of sorts, is why I’m still alive today.
Chronic illness, in the form of type 2 diabetes, hypothyroidism, and especially, mental health issues (which is part of Day #26); serious acute illness with two surgeries; and escaping unscathed from an accident that totalled the car my mother was driving when I was in high school.
Perhaps I’m meant to be a voice for chronic illness, and without me, a life might not be touched in quite the way I can do that.
(Or perhaps I’m meant to be Aunt Rachel and the crazy cat lady.)
I don’t know. I do know I want to help others reach satisfaction in their lives, even if touched by chronic illness. Especially if touched by chronic illness.
