My 18th 'D' Birthday Party!

I was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes on 25th December 1992. To celebrate my 18th birthday, I had a costume party on Saturday night. I was delighted to see the effort my family went to with their costumes. My brother Dean came as the famous rocker/diabetic Brett Michael's. My sister-in-law Jen came as Peggy Lee a famous country singer who had Diabetes. My parents came as their version of Barnaby-Bee (the NZ Diabetes mascot) banana bee (mum-banana & dad-bee). My lovely husband's costume was a giant injection and I came as a drop of blood. Loved spending time with all of my friends who came to the party (Deb, Mike, Lynaire, Clare, Maria, Andy, Tristine & Kevin).
