Apologies to Mulitclix, but it’s your fault |

While I know I gave a very positive review of the Delica lancet not terribly long ago, the workhorse of my kit, and my daily driver, is still the lancet that came with the very first meter I ever owned, that my old GP gave me on the day of my diagnosis: The Accu Chek Multiclix. I realized something distrubing and somehow awesome at the same time today. I have been using the same lancet in my Multiclix lancing device since June. JUNE. And not the same cartridge (which would be equally amazing really), the same LANCET. And you know what? No difference between right now and prick #1. It’s totally mindboggling. That’s like 1000 lancings. So why the apology? Well…I obviously haven’t been buying any new lancets recently. Generally speaking, I like to spend my money on products that offer value, and support innovations/companies that make a positive impact on my life. Not that I’m worried that Roche is going to go out of business, or shut down its Accu Chek division, but when I think of all the money I’ve spent on stuff that just plain doesn’t work, I’d much rather it had gone somewhere useful. At this point, I’m not sure what’s going to make me change lancets (other than an infection. *knock on wood*). But Accu Chek, please, accept my apology and don’t take this as a call to make crappier supplies.
